Library Research Help Wireless Access

Wireless Access

St. Francis College provides wireless internet access in the Library for students who have laptops. To take advantage of this service, you will need a computer with a 802.11b compatible WiFi card.

When logging in, you should use the network name (or ESSID) of “SFCWIRELESS.” Then, set up your computer to use DHCP to automatically configure the network parameters.

Public Internet access is, by its nature, insecure. Users are advised to use SSL to connect to web pages and mail hosts. Use SSH-V2 and VPN's for all other connections.

For additional questions about using wireless service, call the Student Help Desk at (718) 489-5444 or send an email to studenthelpdesk@stfranciscollege.edu.
