Reserve Materials

  • What type of Reserve Material does St. Francis College Library have?

    There are two types of Reserve Material at SFC Library – Professors’ Reserve and SGA (Student Government Association), also known as BEETET, Reserve.
    Professors’ Reserve are books, videos, and other printed material kept in the library by a professor for his or her class.
    BEETET Reserve are textbooks purchased by the Student Government Association based on the price of the textbook and class enrollment.

  • Where are the Reserve Materials located?

    Both Professors’ Reserve and BEETET Reserve are located at the Circulation Desk, at the entrance to St. Francis College Library.
    You must have a valid St. Francis College I.D. to borrow material. All items borrowed at the Circulation Desk must be returned to the Circulation Desk.

  • How long may I check out a given item?

    Reserve Textbooks and other Reserve material circulate for two hours and may be renewed for an additional loan period if no one placed a hold on a specific book or video/DVD.

  • What are the charges for an overdue item?

    The fine for overdue Reserve Material is 10 cents per hour or any part thereof and $1 per day. The maximum Professors’ Reserve Material fine is $10 per item.
    The overdue fine for BEETET Collection Reserve Textbooks is $1 an hour for every hour the Library is open. The maximum fine for BEETET Reserve Textbooks is $50.
    Students will be blocked from borrowing Library material if they have $50 in outstanding fines.
