Privacy Policy

St. Francis College Library is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all library users. To that end, the Library avoids creating unnecessary records, retaining records not needed for library business purposes, and immediately shreds all records that are no longer needed.

We keep this information about patrons:

  • name
  • address
  • email address
  • phone number
  • titles of items currently charged, missing, or lost
  • fines and fees currently owed
  • historical payments
    •

    We never keep this information about patrons:

  • social security numbers
  • individual historical charges (aggregate charges are occasionally used for statistical purposes)
  • records of previous fines and fees
  • birthdates
    •

    Library staff may access personal data stored in the Library's computer system only for the purpose of performing their assigned library duties. Staff will not disclose any personal data we collect from you to any other party except where required by law or to fulfill your service request.

    The computers used in the Library conform with St. Francis College's overall rigorous approach to online security.
