Library Services & Policies For Faculty: Classroom Instruction

For Faculty: Classroom Instruction

One of the services reference librarians provide is formal classroom instruction.

Classroom sessions are usually taught by librarians with a related subject specialty, and can be tailored according to the needs of students.

Past topics of instruction include:
  • How to locate materials in the online catalog
  • How to find articles in online databases
  • How to cite papers properly
  • How to evaluate information
  • How to compose strong thesis papers
  • Using other libraries and resources in New York City
  • And, of course, some helpful techniques for using St. Francis College Library
  • Faculty who wish to set up a classroom session with a librarian are encouraged to be in touch with a reference librarian by using either:
  • the staff directory, which lists reference librarians by subject specialty, or
  • the Ask-a-Librarian form.
  • Either way will ensure a prompt response.
